Photo Overload!

Hi Mr Blog.....very long time no see!!!

Well, here's the thing.....apparently, I have reached my photo capacity on the last blog :( And as I blog in pictures, the only way forward seemed to be to start a new one! So, WELCOME TO 'OUR HOUSE CONTINUED' :)))

Today, I am just going to type and catch you up on all that has been happening, in time I will pretty up the blog and make it look more like the last one....which is still there to view. Does anyone know if it's possible to print these blog posts? I have rellies with no pc's and would love to post hard copies to them :)

We have had to slow down a bit on the renovations as Mike's flat hasn't sold yet and funds are dwindling :(  There's been a bit of interest but the housing market is very slow, at the mo, so we're not holding our breath.

Life has been full of studying, exams, work and courses......Steph's results are looking very good; graduation in July :)  Hannah has one more A level to sit then all the hours and hours of revising come to an end! So proud of both my girlies...they have worked very hard and long :)

Bradford Jublilee: Mike and I spent Jubilee weekend in Bradford...had a fab time; street party; cabin on the moors with many others singing along with brill guy on guitar and climbing to the top of Baildon Hill to watch a beacon being lit; a trip to IKEA and plants and cuttings to bring home.
We do have some sad news....our little Suntan apple tree didn't survive the winter :( But Waterperry Gardens were great; offered a replacement with no questions asked....we collected it on the way home :)

We now have a cherry tree, a plum tree and our Suntan; a gooseberry bush, a redcurrant bush and Rhubarb (thank you, Liz). Gourds and pumpkins planted. We think we have discovered a small Hazel tree, too, so that will join our 'orchard' soon :)

We don't seem able to sit around and twiddle our thumbs for long......I have been making bunting for those summer BBQs we plan......

And Mike has been making signs and boxes and I've been painting and lettering :)

There is now no chance of getting the washing in the wrong bag! BTW...this is working way better than I expected....one bag = one wash load and (most of the time) nothing needs sorting! Yay! :D

And our little house in the garden now has a name......

And a verandah......did it have the box planter at the side in the last blog?

Lilac Cottage came into it's own when we had most of my grand children round for Perri's birthday; while the biggies played volley ball over the washing line, the littlies played 'house'.....just lovely, made us both very happy!

There has been a little DIY going on; Mike has covered the ugly metal beam in the kitchen ready to be plastered

Wood supports

Plasterboard almost complete

We have, also, been having some quotes from sparkies for finishing the electrics as the electrician who was doing it is now tied up until after August and we'd really like to get the kitchen ceiling up sooner than that!

Just for Suse.....flowers :)))

And, finally, our two little black helpers...all better after their ops :))

Bye bye Blog, I'll not leave it sooooo long next time :))
